Each of the eight PoE ports can supply up to 30 W, with a total combined PoE budget of 125 W, allowing users to power up to four IEEE 802.3at-compliant devices without requiring an additional power supply. This allows devices to be installed in locations without any power outlets, saving on installation costs and reducing the time it takes to install new devices.

The DGS-1010MP is fully plug and play, meaning installation is quick and easy and requires no additional configuration. Support for Auto MDI/MDI-X on all ports eliminates the need for crossover cables when connecting to another switch or hub. Auto-Negotiation on each port senses the link speed of a network device (either 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps) and intelligently adjusts for optimal compatibility and performance. With store-and-forward switching, the DGS-1010MP also maximizes network performance while minimizing packet loss during data transmission. In addition, the DGS-1010MP features one Gigabit Ethernet and one SFP uplink port for high-speed connections to remote storage or for long distance fiber connections to an uplink network.
